Security Team Leader

Purpose of role
The role will be based at Victoria Gate and report to the Head of Security, McLaren Services Ltd.  When required, working at MTC or other McLaren sites will form part of the role both UK or some planned overseas travel.  You will manage the daily needs of the McLaren Security Team onsite to meet the requirements of the McLaren Stakeholders.  Providing the initial contact for all front of house staff and guests for routine security matters ensuring a high quality and prompt response.
Managing the daily security and guest operation to provide service continuity, ensuring all operations comply with both statutory and company requirements.  Plan work schedules to cover, rosters, sickness and annual leave maintaining adequate levels.  While advising the Head of Security of any variations or changes that may be required.  Taking responsibility for the management of the security team, monitoring appearance and punctuality whilst providing motivation, encouragement and team development.  Active participation in the production and regular update of a definitive set of Standard Operating Procedures and Health and Safety Risk Assessments.  Ensuring these are regularly reviewed and kept up to date and clearly understood by all members of the Security Team.
Review any incidents as they happen, taking the appropriate action and if necessary escalating through the command chain.  Ensure all reportable incidents and occurrences that impact on the businesses are recorded and the Head of Security is kept informed.  
Assist the Head of Security in individual projects within the field of security as required and identify any Security Team needs or training requirements.  You will be expected to build an exceptional working relationship with the current McLaren Security Management team to enable a working solution to all potential possibilities across the businesses both on and off site 24hrs.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • From a front of house Security management background in a highly proactive role
  • Previous executive VIP customer service experience
  • Worked on a high-profile reception
  • Computer literate, including excel and word 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of the legislative requirements of the security industry
  • Demonstrate honesty, trustworthiness and integrity
  • Full manual UK driving licence 
  • Full and current First aid at work certificate
  • Minimum SIA front line licence or Door supervisor
  • In possession of a valid Passport

  • You will need to be a team player and flexibility is a must to assist in holiday, sickness and event cover.  
  • A proactive individual that can use common sense and resolve issues or given tasks efficiently.   
  • The ability to keep calm is essential as is the ability to perform with professionalism regularly under pressure.
  • Occasional out of hours response to sites maybe required in emergency situations where additional assistance may be required.
