Warranty Claims Engineer

To ensure McLaren Automotive continues its desire to be “the sportscar company”, we are looking for an Warranty Claims Engineer to join our Quality team.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Support McLaren retailer network with any Warranty related queries.
  • Review Global Warranty claims ensuring all details are correct and in line with the McLaren Operating Standards.
  • Claims pre-authorization from retailer network, control and monitoring. Identifying warrantable/none warrantable cases.
  • Support Technical Support to ensure the correct level of service is given to the retailer network.
  • Support  Regional Aftersales Managers with claim concerns, escalation and final claim approval
  • Analysis and reporting of claim data & claim behaviour from retailer network, costs/frequency, parts used etc. for Retailer development.
  • Analysis and reporting of claim data for product quality improvement, emerging field defects and recall / campaign management.
  • Support McLaren Special Operations to ensure any related items are escalated where required.
  • Regular review of labour times, highlighting discrepancies or items for review to Service Engineering.
  • Liaise with Commercial Operations to ensure vehicle data is correctly displayed to the retailer network.
  • Analysis and reporting of claim data for future project development.
  • Recall and campaign management, creation of warranty and service bulletins, etc.
  • Support McLaren Quality team with component failure route cause analysis and co-ordinate retailer network feedback.
  • Liaison with McLaren Retailer Network and the co-ordination of the return parts replaced by warranty
  • Support retailer network with customer satisfaction and goodwill activities for warranty cases.
  • Warranty reimbursement checking; preparing warranty notification for retailers and liaison with Finance team.
  • To carry out any other appropriate work as required by the company.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent,
  • Previous experience as in similar role preferably in an Automotive Aftersales environment either at Head Office or Field Support level
  • Computer literate
  • Knowledge of Engineering Bill of Material systems
  • Knowledge of Electrical Diagnostic Systems
  • Knowledge of Modern Vehicle operating systems (EHB, ABS, HVAC, Engine, and Transmissions)
