Purpose:

Pushing these limitations isn’t without it’s challenges, as a Vehicle Line Manager you will act as the link between the Program Manager and the Engineering Managers, often managing resources, developing relationships blended with the technical knowledge and know how.

The Chassis and Vehicle Technology team are made up of 4 areas that report to the Head of CVT; Aerothermal, Vehicle Dynamics, CAE and NVH, with a respective technical manager, responsible for each area across all vehicle lines. The team are responsible for delivering various chassis components/systems and develop chassis control systems like Active Aero.

This is an important position within McLaren Automotive as Super series vehicle contributes to a large part of our business and is a senior role.

As a Vehicle Line Manager, you will have great exposure to various areas within the business, working cross functionally across CVT engineering and all supporting functions of Purchasing, Logistics, SQA, Quality and Manufacturing. You will also have vast interaction with various systems on the full vehicle due to the nature of the vehicle attributes specific to the team.

Nothing spectacular was ever achieved by staying in a comfort zone. This will be a challenging role, due to the level of work and determination to succeed and ensure all components are engineered simultaneously for on time delivery to cost, weight and CVT vehicle attributes. In this role you will be given driver training to obtain a McLaren B Permit, SAP and practical problem solving.

In addition to this you will be eligible to enrol on the Manager Effectiveness Program. 

To be successful as Vehicle Line Manager, you should be at ease with developing relationships, working with and through people and a confident communicator with great ability to influence. You must have previous chassis or similar vehicle technology experience in an automotive product development or project leadership function. It is highly likely that you have extensive experience within chassis engineering, with vast understanding of vehicle dynamics, aerodynamics, NVH and CAE attributes. You may even be in a similar role currently and so proven delivery experience with the use of MS office and SAP would be a significant advantage. Don’t delay, apply now.
