To work as part of the McLaren Automotive Uplift Team currently based at the McLaren Technology Centre. The Uplift Team Leader will report to the Uplift Group Leader and be responsible for all aspects related to preparation of pre-owned vehicles and dispatch into the dealer network.
 

Principal Accountabilities:
 

To lead all build and shakedown activity of the planned de-fleet/uplift and PVP vehicles, taking responsibility for reporting an accurate status and maintaining deadlines
To ensure that the Uplift Team is presented access to all information, both technical and operational, relevant to their tasks. Including but not limited to daily briefings, ‘build board’ management, and completion of sign-off documentation
Support all meetings when required to report allocated build status
Support Workshop Development Activities, working towards improved workshop layout creation and subsequent commissioning
To identify any developmental needs of the technician team and offer mentoring (informal) or recommend formal training as appropriate.
Working closely with the Group Leader, Workshop Co-ordinator, and other Company Health and Safety representatives to maintain the Prototype Build workshop so that they are fully compliant with all Health and Safety requirements.
To ensure that the workshop and adjacent areas such as the Service Yard meet McLaren standards of presentation
To support mid-year and end-of-year Performance Reviews for the technicians according to the timing and process requirements of the business, as requested by the group leader


Knowledge, skills and experience:
 

A recognized automotive apprenticeship and/or relevant NVQ, City and Guilds motor vehicle studies qualification or equivalent is highly desirable.
Must be able to demonstrate broad knowledge of current automotive technologies and processes.
Should have extensive experience in motorsport/prototype/low volume/high performance vehicle manufacturing, assembly and operation.
Competent with the lineside station and build process documentation
IT literate and competent in the use of various packages (E.g. Outlook, Excel)
Full, clean driving license and passport/travel document.
