Treasury Assistant

Location: Woking, GB

Purpose of the role:

As a Treasury Assistant, you will be required to support and assist the Treasury Accountant and business to enable management and delivery of efficient cash management, foreign exchange risk management and liquidity funding for the business whilst maintaining an effective control environment which minimises financial and operational risk.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Preparation of daily cash position, including variance analysis, review of treasury transactions including foreign exchange and payment team proposals
  • Positioning of all McLaren Automotive bank accounts including use of foreign exchange swaps, and bank transfers to concentrate cash or debt to minimise interest costs
  • Daily foreign exchange deal preparation for execution by the Treasury Accountant or Group Treasurer
  • Daily reporting of net cash position to the Group Treasurer and wider finance teams.
  • Set up of all Treasury payments (Intra group transfers, foreign exchange settlements, liquidity fund deposits, ad-hoc payments etc) on a day to day basis via the available bank platform templates
  • Ensuring all McLaren foreign exchange settlements are made on time including agreement of daily netting figures with external banking providers
  • Access and maintain SAP accounting of transactions from time to time as required by Treasury Accountant
  • Access and use multiple bank platforms for daily cash reporting and transaction analysis
  • Support to Treasury Accountant on external borrowing facilities including the Revolving Credit Facility, Marketing Fleet Facility and Receivables Financing Facilities
  • Maintain and update central records of Letters of Credit and Bank Guarantees for the group
  • Bank account management – assisting with KYC requirement and bank account administration
  • Support Treasury Accountant in analysis of bank charges, focusing on cost efficiency
  • Administration of FX rates files and input of monthly rates into SAP
  • Support of preparation of reports required by banks for review by Treasury Accountant and Group Treasurer

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • A minimum of 1-2 years’ treasury experience
  • Part qualified or considering study towards a professional accounting or treasury qualification such as Association Corporate Treasurers (AMCT) / Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)
  • Understanding of systems (SAP, treasury management systems, bank platforms and other web based treasury portals) would be advantageous
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
