Purpose of the Role:

 

Reporting to the McLaren Automotive Academy Manager, Main aim: Performance Manage the set-up and delivery of training to the McLaren dealer network and internal staff, ensuring regular and effective communication with the McLaren Global regions.  Ensuring that the infastructure/training assets are Globally in place to supprt the agreed Regional training calendars.

To efficiently manage the training administration team of McLaren Automotive Academy aiming to provide world class training support and services to both internal and external customers

 

Responsibilities to include:

 

  • Budget planning – manage the costing model for sales, after sales and technical training
  • Performance reporting – tracking the global network population against the Academy curriculum, ensuring staff turnover is accounted for, monitoring training quality and business impact.
  • Programme planning – Agree annual training plans with each region, plan provision accordingly
  • Ensure all training courses are prepared and executed to the required standard.
  • Future delivery methods – engage with new technology providers to evolve how training is delivered away from the classroom
  • Manage training providers – performance manage agencies appointed to deliver training
  • Event briefings and preparation – brief in major training events to McLaren Events team ensuring they can provide what the Academy requires
  • Communication – develop and implement an effective Academy communication strategy

 

Relevant Education, Knowledge and Experience

 

Education:
Degree level education.

 

Experience:

There is a need for an individual with operational vision, strategic thinking and aspiration for the company and the brand.

 

An automotive background is essential with experience of event management.  Experience in understanding the needs of Training Operations Management linked to a high impact learning experience would be a distinct advantage. A natural love for, and curiosity about, cars, the automotive market place and future trends. They will also already have a detailed, technical understanding of cars in general.

 

  • Significant automotive operational background (preferred but not obligatory)
  • A track record of developing and delivering high impact events
  • The ability to understand and translate Academy Learning requirements into appropriately targeted events for the purposes of enhancing the learning experience
  • Previous experience of managing training operations
  • International experience a real advantage
  • A winning mentality - demonstrates great drive to achieve outstanding results
  • Resilient and adaptable. Able to maintain a consistently high level of work and professional output
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills

 

Languages: Fluent English. An additional language an advantage in this global role

 

PC/Software: PC and Microsoft Office Literate. Highly competent in PowerPoint and especially Excel
