Purpose of the Role:

Working in the Software Integration Team to deliver the future of McLaren Automotive electronic systems into production, such as Transmission and Chassis Control systems, Hybrid Powertrain systems, HMI/UX and Body systems, ADAS, vehicle connectivity systems.

With exposure to a variety of systems and platforms across programmes, you'll be responsible for implementation of the whole-vehicle EE Architecture, systems interactions, distributed functionality, delivering the software functionalities on McLaren vehicle programmes through development to Series production.

With full visibility on the EE Architecture from an integration perspective and in strong collaboration with our excellent Software Testing department, you will be the point of contact for all the departments of McLaren Automotive to assess Software Integration activities (troubleshooting) and provide with technical solution (technical services).

The work involves cutting-edge EE platform technologies, with a wide and complex scope touching robust design, DFMEA, functional safety, feature decomposition, network communication, diagnostics, offering a great opportunity of personal and technical development.

Skills and personal attributes:

  • Deep passion for Electronic Controls Systems and Automotive EE Architectures
  • Excellent knowledge of Automotive network protocols, e.g. CAN, LIN, UDS, and Ethernet
  • Understanding of vehicle-level system integration in terms of hardware and software
  • Independent with Automotive Networks Analysis and Specification tools, such as CANoe, PREEvision, CANdela, DOORS
  • Experience with design of electronic systems in line with ISO-26262
  • Experience with development of electronic components from a project engineer perspective;
  • Naturally technical, able to employ fundamental engineering principles and practical problem solving
  • High self-motivation, willingness to learn and develop in a dynamic and exciting environment
  • Excellent teamwork attitude
  • Electrical, software or automotive engineering degree 2:1, or above
