To ensure McLaren Automotive continues to be at the forefront of the Automotive social market, we are looking for a Social Media Executive to join our PR team.

Purpose of the role:

In your role of Social Media Executive, you will support the day-to-day activity of McLaren Automotive’s social media channels, including all community management, content posting and content management as well as support of marketing campaigns, licensees and experiences programmes.

You will be joining an exciting public relations team which puts digital at the forefront of everything it does. As Social Media Executive, you will be expected to innovate on just about every level, from campaign ideas to community engagement.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Working closely with the Head of Digital Communications to deliver social content plans, content posting and community management
  • Hands-on creation of content for social channels across platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Weibo and WeChat
  • Day-to-day management of social media communities, adhering to the overarching communications strategy, objectives and tone of voice
  • Liaising with McLaren’s Partnerships team to develop and execute partner campaigns across McLaren's social media channels
  • Hands-on planning and execution of social media marketing campaigns
  • Providing support to the global PR team to deliver regional social activations
  • Supporting the regional marketing teams to maintain product campaigns in region
  • Maintaining an influencer comms strategy and contact book
  • Reporting and analysis of McLaren's performance across all social channels and specific campaign activities
  • Monitoring and reporting on updates across social media platforms and wider market trends

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Established social media and community management background including proven experience in managing the day-to-day activity on a major brand social media account across multiple platforms
  • Excellent copywriting, proofreading and editing skills, evidencing a clear understanding of social media tone of voice
  • Demonstrable passion for social media community engagement
  • Experience of delivering social media marketing campaigns, including fluency with the back-end tools pertaining to Facebook and Instagram marketing
  • Ability to spot establishing social media trends
  • Experience in content generation and asset creation in the automotive sector
