Purpose of the Role:

To inspect components to ensure they meet Quality standards required by McLaren Automotive Ltd. Carry out containment activities identified in series production and process non conforming product according to organisations Quality Management System.



Principal Accountabilities:


The role of Quality Inspector encompasses the following activities:


  • Inspecting components for defects and completeness
  • Reading drawings and following McLaren quality plans and other specifications to obtain product information
  • 1st line of containment through stock sort or rework activities.
  • Processing of Non conforming product.
  • Escalation to supervisor / team leader when the product fails to meet standards
  • Update and submitting regular inspection reports to management.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Significant level of experience in inspection.
  • Mechanical engineering background would be an advantage.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings.
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Automotive experience would be highly regarded
  • Understanding of Quality problem solving tools would be an advantage
