We now have a fantastic opportunity for a Service Parts Information Specialist to join our Service and Aftersales team based in Woking, Surrey.

Purpose of the role:

You will be responsible for the management of the Spare Parts Catalogue, with support from the Senior Vehicle Documentation Specialist. This will require maintenance of current model data, and creation of new model catalogues. In addition, you will be responsible for liaising with other areas of Aftersales and other departments of McLaren Automotive to achieve content deployment.

The ultimate aim is to provide clear and accurate data, allowing Retailers to select and supply parts correctly, ultimately ensuring that time off road is kept to the very minimum and that the highest levels of customer satisfaction are achieved.”

Principal accountabilities:

  • To create and maintain service parts information lists (BOM) and Warranty Codes for each model/variant.
  • To generate and maintain service parts information illustrations using 3D CAD for the McLaren dealer network for the servicing and repair of high performance vehicles.
  • To assist the Service Documentation Illustrator in creation of service parts information for the McLaren dealer network for the servicing and repair of high performance vehicles.
  • Provide support for Service and Aftersales activities, under the direction of the Service Engineering Manager.
  • Liaise with other McLaren Automotive departments, and partners, as required

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • A strong knowledge of automotive parts / components, conversant with aspects of vehicle systems and technical authoring. Experience within roles from other engineering disciplines considered.
  • Experience in electronic parts catalogues in a vehicle environment. Experience within roles from other engineering disciplines considered.
  • Conversant with CAD (Catia V5) and/or Solidworks/3dvia Composer (or similar) an advantage but not essential.
  • Conversant with SAP (MM) (or similar) an advantage but not essential.
  • Conversant with Adobe Illustrator and/or Adobe Photoshop (or similar) an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, etc.).
  • A suitable formal education via City & Guilds or equivalent, and an apprenticeship (extensive and suitable experience may be considered in lieu) is highly desirable.
