Series Project Manager - Electronic Systems and Controls (contract)

As part of our Track25 business plan we will launch 18 new models or derivatives of our vehicles and look to expand our retailer network into new markets with an aim of having 100 retailers globally.

To ensure McLaren Automotive continues to be at the forefront of the Automotive market, we are looking for a Series Vehicle Line Manager     to join our Electronic System and Controls department as a contractor for the next 5 months based out of Woking.
Purpose of the Role: 
5 month contract to manage all electronics within series production, responsible for the hardware (ECUs) and the software components from SOP to end of production. Working as part of a matrix structure with the Head of Series (functional management) and the Electronics department (line management).
Principal Accountabilities:

  • Resolution of production issues
  • Execution of continuous improvement initiatives
  • Planning and execution of software platform and model year updates
  • Planning and management of budgetary and resource requirements
  • Represent the “Electronics” department within the project team, reporting information, concerns and milestone achievements in the two ways (from the department to the project and vice versa).

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Team leadership within the automotive industry or similar domain.
  • Project management – scope definition, planning, monitoring and controlling.
  • Electronics architecture experience (harness, CAN/LIN protocols, ECUs, sensors) in automotive.
  • Body/Chassis and Software/Hardware project management experience for automotive applications.
  • Experience of production environment
  • Commercial acumen
