The Role:

  • As a Senior Hybrid & Vehicle Systems Engineer, you will provide end-to-end technical leadership, act as a key technical customer interface, and generate high quality systems requirement specifications to enable hardware and software development to meet customers’ needs.
  • You will lead customer facing projects to capture customer requirements when developing a product or complex system.
  • You will author and manage Systems Requirements to a high standard to enable the development of hardware and software, and manage the traceability of requirements through to project delivery.
  • You will manage the technical customer relationship through the project duration.
  • You will work with customers to integrate our systems into their vehicle or product.
  • You will lead development of testing strategies and testing of complex systems and products.
  • You will work cross functionally with other engineering teams, project management and stakeholders from pre-sales through to delivery and support phases.
  • You will present formal project updates to internal and external senior management, and be comfortable providing updates on project progress with little or no preparation.
  • You will provide technical guidance and act as a mentor for the hybrid systems team.
  • You will provide customer technical support at track, testing and customer sites.
  • You will propose, develop, and champion new engineering processes for the benefit of the business.


  • Have a first class degree, or upper 2nd, in a relevant Engineering or highly quantitative field or relevant industry experience.
  • Have a proven background in high pressured, time critical customer facing Systems or Project Engineering roles.
  • Have proven experience in requirements capture and management processes.
  • Have proven experience in testing distributed electronic and software systems.
  • Can manage, work and deliver work outside of core domain.
  • Are confident making decisions and take responsibility for delivery.
  • Understand automotive or motorsport electronic systems.
  • Are familiar with software and hardware development, and the product development V-Model.
  • Have knowledge and experience of high power electrical systems on hybrid or electric vehicles, and/or automotive control electronics.
  • Produce formal documentation to a very high standard.
  • Are organised, systematic, and understand the process of fault finding.
