Senior Finance Analyst

Location: Woking, GB

Purpose of the Role:

To support the Senior Finance Business Partner in the month end process and preparation of forecasts, budgets and long range plans for Corporate Services. To provide high quality, accurate and insightful internal reporting for Corporate Services, Contracts management and Projects to the management team to aid decision making. To challenge stakeholders and assist them in making appropriate commercial decisions.

Role Dimensions:

The role reports to the Senior Finance Business Partner and provides the opportunity to support the business with recommendations based on intelligent analysis of historic trends and business knowledge.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Preparation of quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and long range plans for Corporate Services covering all aspects of the financial statements.
  • Consolidation of quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and long range plans for McLaren Technology Group submitting to Group Finance.
  • Preparation of clear, robust and insightful financial reporting for Corporate Services on a monthly basis with variance analysis
  • Liaison with Legal, Treasury and HR and other areas within Corporate Services.
  • Engage with the business on Contract Management, highlighting areas of risks and opportunities.
  • Preparation of clear, robust and insightful financial reporting for Contract Management on a monthly basis.
  • Attending the weekly Project Portfolio board meeting and engaging with the Head of Project Management bi-weekly provide,  clear, robust and insightful financial reporting for Projects on a monthly basis with variance analysis.
  • Collaborate with the senior team to update the cash flow forecast for current year, based on current performance, changing market conditions and updated plans and initiatives.
  • Maintaining and improving the quality of data and information.
  • Liaison with the Financial Accounting team to ensure the effective processing of all financial transactions.
  • Monthend journal posting based on assessment of actuals vs expectations.
  • Work with the finance team and other colleagues across the business, maintaining healthy working relationships.
  • Proactively work with the Senior Finance Business Partner to put in place improved processes.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with a commercial outlook and a strong ‘can do’ attitude
  • Advanced Excel user
  • Excellent analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Strong attention to detail
