Purpose of the Role

This role as Senior Engineering Systems Analyst sits within the Racing Technology department with the main focus on leading and delivering R&D and technology projects to improve the methods and toolsets used to develop the race car. This requires close collaboration with various engineering disciplines within the group incl. design, systems and data analysis, as well as other departments and external partners.

Role Dimensions

The key tasks of the role reach from applying science, maths and data analysis all the way to project management. On a technical level the Senior Engineering Systems Analyst shall contribute with thorough analysis and hands-on optimization of current methods and tools using maths, physics, modelling and data processing. It is paramount to take ownership of multiple concurrent projects, clearly identify technical requirements, define work packages and schedules, and provide clear communication to the project team, suppliers and stake holders. Beyond these aspects it is part of the role to evaluate and implement promising new technologies, identify key limitations of current systems and derive holistic technology road maps for different areas. Occasional travel to offsite facilities and race tracks around the world will be required as well as flexibility to work out of office hours and weekends.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Apply science and data analysis to evaluate and improve current methods and tools in use
  • Develop creative solutions and implement new technologies were suitable
  • Derive abstract requirements for complex problems and communicate effectively
  • Lead multiple R&D projects from initial scoping to full delivery
  • Work closely with project team to ensure that projects are delivered on time and within scope
  • Drive technical discussions with the engineering team, stake holders and external partners

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:


  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills incl. signal processing, simulation and modelling
  • Experience in the analysis of complex data sets to understand underlying behaviour
  • In depth knowledge of physics and understanding of advanced hardware and software systems
  • Ability to break down complex problems to identify the abstract and principle requirements
  • Competence in developing innovative solutions with a team of creative engineers
  • Experience in leading projects incl. liaison with other departments and external partners
  • Ability to comprehend complex scenarios and derive structured plans and work flows
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal
  • PhD or excellent undergraduate degree in a quantitative subject such as Engineering, Applied Mathematics or Experimental Physics


  • Experience in motorsport aerodynamics and/or vehicle dynamics
  • Understanding of testing and experiments in wind tunnel, on rigs and race track
  • Working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams
