Our team

Our concept team is formed of data scientists, software engineers and business analysts who collaborate with our UK concept teams to solve challenges in the health and transport industries.

The analytics team comprises of high-energy individuals who derive joy in solving difficult business problems using a data-lead approach. They stem from various disciplines with a quantitative bias working together to recommend well-thought out and practical solutions to our wide spectrum of customers. The team employs modern software tools to deliver scalable solutions that can provide timely insight into system behaviour and provide recommendations on the effect of interventions on the system.

Within the analytics team in which you will be required to collaborate with Software Engineers, Business Analysts, Project Managers, as well as other technical and business disciplines, to plan and lead the development of solutions across the full product lifecycle, in line with business imperatives.

The role

As a DevOps Engineer you will create innovative solutions using the latest technologies. We need smart engineers who are passionate about technology to join our team and help us provide timely insight into data for our customers.


  • First-class degree or upper 2nd in Computer Science or practical commercial experience
  • Have knowledge of a configuration management tools
  • Have experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Skills and expertise

  • Strong background in Linux/Unix administration
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using Puppet, Chef or an equivalent
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services such as AWS (Cloud Formation) and Cloud Orchestration
  • Strong experience with SQL, MySQL and NoSQL
  • A working understanding of coding and scripting using Python, Ruby/Perl
  • A working understanding of Azure, Team City, would be advantageous
  • Strong understanding of Agile

You will be based at the world-renowned McLaren Technology Centre. Our campus includes a subsidised restaurant, a café, a gym with a pool, break-out spaces, bicycle storage facilities and more.

Our environment is designed to encourage collaborative working across all teams. You will be within one hundred metres of a specialist within their field, whether it’s in design, modelling and simulation, software development, data analytics, electronics hardware, finance and marketing.

Recruitment process

  • If your application is successful, you’ll be invited for a phone interview with one of our experienced technical recruiters.
  • If our recruiter believes you're suitable for the role, you will then be asked to complete a technical challenge. This will be completed in your own time. 
  • If you are successful, you’ll then be invited for a phone interview with one of the hiring managers which will include technical questions relating to the job role.
  • The final stage involves a face to face interview in London or at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, with the hiring manager and other members of the team.
