SAP ABAP Developer - 11 month Fixed Term Contract (Maternity cover)

Purpose of the Role:

The principle purpose of the SAP ABAP Developer role is to provide SAP technical guidance, maintenance, support, and custom development of the existing SAP solution in McLaren. The SAP ABAP Developer will collaborate with relevant colleagues and interested parties to provide this expertise.
Role Dimensions:

  • Design and deliver technically robust solutions that adhere to McLaren development standards and architectural guidelines. 
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, key users and colleagues to investigate, analyse and develop value added business solutions. 
  • Participate in technical design discussions. 
  • Create and maintain required technical documentation. 
  • Ensure solutions are satisfactorily unit tested. 
  • Provide, within SLA, level 2 and 3 technical support for relevant incident ticket resolution. 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Complete work within agreed timelines. 
  • Adhere to the McLaren coding standards and McLaren architectural guidelines. 
  • Respond to level 2 and 3 support requests within agreed SLA’s. 
  • Provide necessary documentation and knowledge transfer to support organisation. 
  • Occasional on-call / out of hours responsibilities. 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience of SAP RICEFW technical development (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms and Workflow):
  • ABAP/4 Programming including Dialog, IDocs, SAP Script, Smartforms, ABAP Workbench, Data Dictionary, ABAP Objects, ALV, Enhancement Framework, Workflow. 
  • Experience of some or all the following SAP modules: MM, IM, PP, FI, SD, PLM, HR, PO, VC. 
  • Ability to translate functional requirements into technical specifications. 
  • A full understanding of the structure and logic of programming including Object Orientated. 

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experience in full SAP project life cycles. 
  • Integration experience e.g. SAP PI/PO, SAP CPI, Web API, SAP NWGW. 
  • Fiori / SAP UI5. 
  • Eclipse, Java / JavaScript / HTML5. 
  • S4/HANA. 
  • SAP Cloud Platform e.g. SAP Web IDE, IoT, SAP Build. 
  • Mobile app development e.g. Fiori, MS Power Apps, Mobilizer. 
  • Adobe Interactive Forms. 
  • Appreciation of project methodologies e.g. Agile, SCRUM, Lean principles, Prince 2.

The Recruitment Process:

  • If your application is successful, you’ll be invited for a phone interview with one of our experienced technical recruiters.
  • Following successful review, you will then partake in a 30-minute telephone interview with the Hiring Manager. 
  • The final stage will be an onsite face to face interview at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey with the Hiring Manager and wider team.
