Resourcing Manager

Fixed Term Contract 


Reporting to: Executive Director of Human Resources

For the next 6 years as part of McLaren’s Track 22 plan, we are looking to invest £1 billion into Research and Development, leading to the launch of 15 all-new cars or derivatives during this period.


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven individual to join our Human Resources team as a Resourcing Manager based at the Mclaren Technology Centre in Woking.


Purpose of the role:


The primary focus for this role is to work with the Resourcing Team and the various resourcing partners and agencies to ensure the operational delivery of vacancies globally.  Using the many avenues available you will work with the relevant Business and HR partners (your customers) to analyse and ensure the correct resourcing requirements have been identified; propose and implement resourcing solutions for McLaren Automotive in collaboration with the relevant HR Partners.


Principal accountabilities:

  • Drive the successful operational delivery of vacancies, to ensure the gap between actual and forecast headcount is narrowed and closed.
  • Effective line management of the resourcing team to ensure delivery of vacancies, process adherence and excellent stakeholder management.
  • Hold hiring managers to account.
  • Produce and interpret meaningful metrics on all resourcing matters, outlining progress, issues and concerns as well as solutions and recommendations.
  • Lead on senior recruitment as required. 
  • Work with Heads of HR and Business leads to plan for future (3-6 months) resourcing.   
  • Ensure compliance with UK/Global legislation  (right to work checks etc)
  • Generate robust processes and metrics to measure the performance (output of vacancies as well as quality) of the Resourcing Team and all 3rd party resourcing suppliers/agencies.
  • Ensure the candidate experience is professional and reflective of the brand. 
  • Get hands on and provide specialist support to Resourcing Advisors as and when required to tackle high volume vacancies or those with specialist/technical skill.
  • Provide recruitment market input in to McLaren Automotive Talent and Career initiatives
  • Support and present progress to key stakeholders in specific resourcing projects – these may be specific business areas or new projects/initiatives
  • Own the relationships between McLaren Automotive and all suppliers - these may be recruitment agencies, resource providers or specific head-hunters.
  • Hold regular progress review meetings with all McLaren Automotive suppliers.
  • Liaise with the commercial team to ensure the correct arrangement in place with any suppliers used in support of the resourcing process.
  • Oversee the resourcing budget working with the Heads of HR to advise of any areas of concern or future unplanned spend
  • Work with the Finance and HR Leads to hold meaningful headcount review discussions with the business for future resource planning (3-6 month period).  
  • Lead the development and where possible the delivery of education for the business managers on their role in resourcing in conjunction with the Resourcing Advisors.
  • Work closely with the Continuous Improvement Manager to feed in to system development and changes to enhance the resourcing experience.
  • Ensure process adherence, highlighting issues and concerns to the relevant Heads of HR and/or Executive Director of HR. 



Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Experienced line manager
  • Proven track record of successfully managing 3rd party suppliers/agencies
  • Proven track record of working in a fast paced and changing environment to execute resourcing plans that balance the delivery of specialist and volume recruitment.
  • Knowledge of a variety of different direct resourcing methods
  • Previous experience of the end to end recruitment experience
  • Ability to work within a defined budget alongside the challenges and unpredictability of some recruitment challenges that will impact on this budget
  • Accurate data management to allow facts to inform future decision making
  • Understanding of UK employment law around Recruitment practices including Data Protection Regulations
