Quality Assurance Lead - Contractor - 6 Months

Role:

As the Quality Assurance Lead, you will lead and drive activities that ensure adherence to the certifications that the business holds or is planning to acquire. You will work to develop and take the business forward through Continual Improvement initiatives and ensuring alignment to strategic business objectives.

 

This position is emedded in the Certification and Continual Improvement area of the Quality department of McLaren Applied Technologies and you willl report to the Certification Manager.

 

Responsiblities:

  • Ensuring the successful compliance to ISO 9001 and 14001 standards and any other certifications that MAT may seek.
  • Lead, drive and support the continual improvement of processes and initiatives across the business.
  • The transforming of Lessons learnt into corrective action plans that will improve business efficiency.
  • Raising the awareness of quality and environmental activities across projects and business functions to influence behaviors.
  • Cascade quality principles throughout the organization by providing guidance, training and measurement to deliver success.
  • Plan, execute and monitor the internal audit of projects and business processes.
  • Ensure environmental legal compliance is maintained against the latest legislation.

 

Skills and Experience:

Minimum requirements:

  • Demonstrable experience in quality management systems.
  • Experience of quality management systems for ISO 9001,14001 and 16949.
  • Hold a HND / bachelor’s degree in engineering, a life science field, medical technology, or equivalent. 
  • Practical experience of applying knowledge of problem solving and continuous improvement tools and Kaizen techniques.
  • Knowledge and practical experience of quality tools including, APQP, FMEA, 8D, 5WHY problem solving tools.
  • Facilitation skills for implementing Lessons Learnt corrective actions across teams.
  • Understanding of engineering design and project development tools.
  • Experience in internal auditing and preparing for external audits.
  • ISO 9001 trained auditor.

 

Desirable:

  • Lean Six Sigma practitioner, green belt
  • Knowledge and implementation of ISO 13485 for medical devices
