Your expertise and passion for automotive electrical and electronic systems will ensure we deliver on our mission: to build the iconic sports car. Innovative technological features are at the heart of this and you’ll be providing ongoing support and innovation to our customers, as well as future-proofing the next generation of McLaren supercars.


Join us as a Series Project Engineer in our Vehicle Electronics team and you’ll be managing and maintaining a number of electronic systems for our cars currently in production. This could include switches, audio systems, antennas, cameras, and displays for vehicle lines like the 720s, 570s, and Senna.


You’ll be part of the team responsible for the development and innovation in these systems, and your specific role will be to identify issues in production or from customers, investigate the root cause, and identify resolutions, containment, and future-proof. The customer will be at the heart of what you do, and it will extend to working with Aftersales, suppliers, and the customers directly to look at how we can improve the technology in our cars for each new model in the future.


This role will see you work with a huge range of stakeholders like software and hardware teams, multiple suppliers, customer insight teams, aftersales, production, and quality teams. As well as this, the speed of development of these systems at McLaren is incredibly rapid, so it’ll suit you if you’re adaptable and able to prioritise multiple programmes and systems at the same time. In return, you’ll be able to see immediate impacts your work has on the cars rolling off the production line and those currently with our customers.


You’ll need to have experience in the development of automotive electronic/ electrical systems like infotainment, instrument panels, switches, antennas or audio systems, as well as experience with the systems engineering V-cycle. You’ll also have the ability to be proactive in identifying problems and finding quick and effective solutions.
