Product Management Director

The product business is underpinned by intellectual property, engineering capability and technology platforms in the fields of electronics, software, data science and design. This challenge is extremely broad in technology and market scope and we require very clear thinking and process to create the best technology, platform and product strategies to support rapid business growth.

 

As the Product Management Director you will work closely with the business line directors to deliver a scalable, high margin product business.

 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Define and communicate a high-level strategy and vision for all product lines.
  • Lead a collaborative culture connecting product marketing, product management, engineering and operations to create product roadmaps that deliver optimum ROI.
  • Provide clear direction from product strategy into engineering development, platform and technology strategy.
  • Work with the Design function to ensure products provide a consistent and brand enhancing customer experience
  • Manage an objective, data-driven and transparent investment prioritisation process.
  • Recruit, mentor and lead Product Line managers to manage portfolios of product through their complete lifecycles in multiple markets
  • Own and report on key KPIs for product line performance, including business cases, product line P&L and ROI.
  • Work with finance to manage the product budget including the treatment of intangible assets.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • A technical / business / commercial visionary and over achieving leader.
  • Extensive experience in a high technology environment.
  • Proven ability to engage with a broad range of stake holders and to work within a matrix organisation.
  • Ability to bring clarity of thought and process to highly complex multi-factorial decisions within the business.
  • A natural mentor to develop product mangers across the business.
  • Previous product management experience
  • Naturally a market facing individual with the ability to identify and crystallise the best market opportunities for MAT.
