Process Maintenance Technician

Location: Woking, GB

The skills, experience and enthusiasm of the people within McLaren is the engine that drives our development. Since moving into the McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) and launching the McLaren Production Centre, McLaren has undergone a period of considerable expansion.

We are now looking for a Process Maintenance Technician to join our McLaren Managed Services Technical team.
Purpose of the role:

As a Process Maintenance Technician at McLaren, you will repair and maintain all of the production equipment within the McLaren Production Centre and the McLaren Technology Centre. You will perform reactive and planned maintenance on a wide range of manufacturing plant and equipment. The role requires a high technical skill level alongside a proactive approach to resolving issues and implementing countermeasures.
Principal accountabilities:

  • Carrying out repair, improvement and planned maintenance work on production equipment.
  • Effective supervision of the subcontractor activities as required.
  • Identification of continuous improvement of plant, equipment and systems.
  • Compliance with health, safety and environmental policy requirements within area of responsibility.
  • Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • A time served recognised apprenticeship in an electrical or mechanical background discipline. 
  • High level of diagnostic and fault-finding experience on plc controlled equipment.
  • Demonstrable experience in system improvement.
  • Good mechanical system knowledge (pumps, vacuum, pneumatics, hydraulics).
  • Effective fault finding on critical production equipment.
  • Experience of fault finding and maintenance activity on PC, PLC and electromechanically controlled production equipment.
  • Robust experience in a similar role and industry.
  • Knowledge of automated control systems and manufacturing and process equipment is required.

  • Good communication and customer facing skills.
  • It is essential that you have a flexible approach to working hours including evenings and weekends. The role will involve working a rotating shift pattern covering early / day / late and weekends, but this may change in the future depending on business needs.  
  • Work well as part as a team as well as using own initiative.
