The Project Coordination team are an integral part of McLaren Automotive, and contribute directly to the success of every vehicle launch. The team have a number of challenges that they face to ensure they are supporting the business to deliver successful vehicle launches, this role will become more challenging as time goes on as we embark on our Track22 business plan; this is our ambition to produce 15 new vehicles and derivatives of, until the year 2022.
Reporting in to the Project Coordination Manager, you will support and work alongside the Vehicle Line Director, in applying Project Governance process and tools in order to achieve project targets and business imperatives with robust, efficient and consistent delivery of vehicle projects.
The team are highly motivated with vast ambitions, they work in a dynamic and collaborative manner and take the McLaren values of working together and exceeding customer expectations to heart.
You will play a key role in assisting the Project Coordination Manager with developing and improving all Project Management processes, with particular reference to the McLaren Development process (MDP), adopting a lessons learned approach and challenging conventional ways of operating with the ultimate goal of contributing to the business competitiveness.
In addition you will  be responsible for coaching and mentoring the Project Coordinators to ensure they operate according to the Project Management processes and deploy best practices and behaviours.

You will oversee and take accountability for the project timing plans of their Vehicle Line, liaising with all the business stakeholders to ensure full understanding of the guiding principles of the plans and availability of detailed plans that support the project milestones.
This is truly a fast paced and demanding environment as the team work to short project cycles to facilitate Track22, and interface with a number of teams, there will be plenty of work to do along with a number of obstacles on the way.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
Educated to Degree level in Management Engineering or Automotive Engineering or similar
Knowledge of Program Management tools and methodologies
Previous experience related to high complexity products and multidisciplinary job environment. Automotive experience preferable
Proven track record in delivering projects and thorough understanding of automotive business model and product development process
Previous line management experience
Critical, factual and data driven approach based on knowledge of problem solving and cause-effects analysis methodologies
Data analysis skills and ability to summarize findings and drive conclusions
Management of timing plans, in multi-project contexts
Advanced level of MS Excel and proficiency in producing effective presentation and full project reporting
Good knowledge of Financial and Quality metrics
Strong team player
Ability to be decisive and assertive
