Principal Body Engineer

We are recruiting a Principal Body Engineer to be part of automotive history, responsible for the management and delivery of complete body systems– interior, exterior and body-in-white. From concept design freeze to production launch - this will be an exciting project and it will follow in the footsteps of the McLaren F1, P1 and most recently the Senna.


Reporting to the Vehicle Line Manager – Ultimate Series, working in a matrix environment, you will be working on one of our biggest and most prestigious vehicle projects to date. The focus of this project will be given to weight reduction, aerodynamics and ultimate design with the use of carbon fibre.

In this role, your priorities will focus on 4 key areas – teamwork, people & performance, goals and problem-solving. Working with and indirectly leading internal and external resource, the aim will be to ensure both teams are delivering on your project, to time, cost and weight. There will also be elements of travel required for the role, to visit engineering partners and suppliers.

To be successful in this role you should an established background in automotive body engineering, ideally within carbon fibre. You should be able to demonstrate your experience in working with more than one body area. Delivery will play a big part in this role, therefore you should have a proven track record in delivering on time and to budget. Previous experience of managing external partners would also be required.
