Principal E/E Architecture Engineer - Motorsport

As we begin this exciting journey we are looking for a Principal E/E Architecture Engineer to join our Motorsport function and help deliver our future championship winning GT cars. 

Purpose of the role:

Working with cutting edge motorsport products, you will be able to concept and deliver your own designs and introduce your own ideas without limitations of benchmarks. This is a role that will push you to develop your engineering capability with a major influence on the product with direct input into the design of vehicle EE System Architecture for motorsport projects (e.g. GT4/GT3)

Principal accountabilities:

  • With exposure to a variety of systems, you'll be responsible for strategy, design, and implementation of the whole-vehicle EE architecture, systems interactions, distributed functionality for all motorsport projects.
  • Support the Chief Engineer for Motorsport in the area of competence, by defining a Motorsport delivery strategy for the function and department
  • Promote the best integration in terms of processes, methods, instruments and resources between Motorsport and Automotive by leading a core team of people 100% dedicated to Motorsport.
  • Actively support information flow to the Head of EE architecture in Automotive to transfer Motorsport technologies when applicable
  • Leading the “Motorsport” electronics team to deliver the EE architecture design and application for all the motorsport projects.
  • Select and Manage the key motorsport suppliers to implement the best strategy for the E/E design and application.
  • The work involves motorsport cutting-edge EE platform technologies, with a wide and complex scope touching optimisation, robust design, network communication, diagnostics, offering a great opportunity of personal and technical development.

Skills & personal attributes:

  • Electrical, software or automotive engineering degree 2:1, or above
  • Deep passion for Automotive/Motorsport EE Architectures and Electronic Controls Systems
  • Good knowledge of automotive network protocols, e.g. CAN, LIN, and Ethernet
  • Good knowledge of Electrical Distribution Systems, including circuit design, wiring harnesses, and power distribution.
  • Previous experience with Architecture design and analysis software tools, e.g. PREEvision, CANoe, CANdela, DOORS
  • Good understanding of vehicle level system integration in terms of hardware and software
  • Naturally technical, able to employ fundamental engineering principles
  • High self motivation, willingness to learn and develop
  • Leadership and project management skills
