Preowned Vehicle Preparation - Group Leader is responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary team of build and technicians and logistics personnel through all “uplift” vehicle preparation for pre-owned sales into the dealer network and internal PVP sales. The successful applicant will remain accountable for their teams 100% delivery in this new team.
 

Role Dimensions: The candidate is required to liaise with all areas of Aftersales to ensure the correct priorities have be set, and responsible for reporting status to senior members of the team on a regular basis. They will subsequently plan and execute the end to end activity ensuring all vehicles are prepared for sale to the high standards expected at McLaren Automotive.


rincipal Accountabilities:
 

Lead team of Build and logistics experts to though all uplift/de-fleet/PVP requests, ultimately responsible for delivery on schedule to the dealer network of all vehicles
Ensure the team is supplied with all pertinent information ahead of build starts AND support live build decision making when escalation is necessary
Deliver Progress and status reports to be communicated back to the business, leading by example with clear communication
Work with business processes & resolve issues within the build process when they arise, driving continuous improvement
Schedule and manage all meetings to report on this subject to ensure all customers are correctly informed
Support workshop evolution activities, working towards improved workshop layout creation and subsequent commissioning
To identify any developmental needs of the team and offer mentoring (informal) or recommend formal training as appropriate.
Working closely with the Workshop team, ensuring all Company Health and Safety meetings are supported, so that they are fully compliant with all Health and Safety requirements.
To ensure that the combined Uplift/Prototype Build workshop and adjacent areas used by the team meet McLaren standards of presentation
Conduct mid-year and end-of-year Performance Reviews for the team leaders, supporting comparator reviews at group leader level


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
 
Extensive experience of the high-performance sport/super car segment, ideally gained on low volume, high performance vehicle programmes, motorsport considered
Strong understanding of quality standards required for vehicles sold into the pre-owned market
Demonstrable management experience, w/ evidence to support
Strong IT skills and at ease with MS Office products
