Purpose:

 

Working through our Track 22 business plan as we aim to deliver 15 new vehicles/derivatives, we are now looking to recruit a second Passive Safety Test Engineer, due to an expanding number of vehicle programmes passing through the passive safety team. You will join a small team of 2 and will be based in Woking, with regular travel overseas to support activities. 
 

2017 is proving to be an exciting year for McLaren Automotive, working in an ever-moving forward environment with some exquisite new vehicle programmes, you will be responsible for test planning and execution up to whole vehicle program level, liaising with all stakeholders (Performance Engineers, Component Engineers, Certification Engineers) to ensure their requirements are met and reporting results back into company systems. You will be involved with a broad scope of testing activities including crash and lab testing, for all aspects of safety testing.
 

Though small, the team live by the McLaren value of making things happen, they are hardworking and are dedicated to ensure things get done. This role is a key link in the chain to ensure we are getting cars to homologation approval and on sale in the market.
 

Requirements:
 

Educated to Degree level in Automotive, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
Previous experience in safety testing including familiarity with European and Federal safety testing procedures and legislation.
Ability to think quickly and prioritise to work and react in a timely manner.
Ability to work effectively under pressure.
Strong analytical skills.
Exhibit a logical approach to dealing with the complexities of signing off multiple types and specs of components, ensuring the right part for the right test.
