Production Vehicle Team (PVT) Zone Engineer

McLaren Automotive as a business has grown significantly over the past few years and so has our product range, as we continually work to meet the demands of our customers. Because of our growing product offering, we are now looking to recruit a team of Production Vehicle Team (PVT) Engineers.

Working with the PVT Manager and Senior Engineers, to support the prioritisation, root cause analysis, containment, and resolution of production issues and quality concerns. You will help refine processes, implement new designs and improve the overall vehicle quality as well as assisting with warranty concerns for the entire product range of McLaren Automotive.

As a PVT Engineer, it will be your responsibility to promote technical excellence and cross functional working within the PVT team by sharing your knowledge and expertise, helping to develop the team into truly cross-functional support.

Using your technical expertise to support new product launch into the factory to minimise required function group support. You will also act as a touchpoint between production shifts for your Zone to ensure all containments and issues from the previous shift is properly communicated.

As part of the PVT team, you will have a vast impact on the success of our business as you will have the scope to influence the way we operate to accommodate growth and ensure we are working in an efficient way, to allow us to hit production targets and become more profitable and competitive. 

You will be presented with a variety of problems to tackle within your zone areas and so quick turnaround times will be expected, issues will vary no two days will be the same. This will be the perfect opportunity for someone who gets satisfaction from solving problems and get exposure to whole vehicle systems in the process.

To be successful in this role you will ideally be educated to Degree level in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline. Demonstrable experience in dealing with manufacturing/production issues and implementing resolutions is critical for this role, and so you should have plenty of examples of this within your career. You should be very familiar with quality tools such as FMEA/DFMEA/PFMEA and APQP also.
