Operational Excellence Line Support Engineer

As part of our Track25 business plan we will launch 18 new models or derivatives of our vehicles and look to expand our retailer network into new markets with an aim of having 100 retailers globally.  

 

Track 25 and McLaren Automotive’ s growing reputation is testament to our world class employees. To ensure McLaren Automotive continues to be at the forefront of the Automotive market, we are looking for a Production Engineer to join our Operational Excellence team.

 

Purpose of the role:

As an Operational Excellence - Production Engineer, you will be responsible for looking at current production concerns and actively support in both the containment and countermeasure in a timely manner.

 

Principal accountabilities:

  • Responsible for initiating containments for all issues experienced in build, relating to the area you are responsible for, irrespective of the fault type.
  • Working with all relevant business area’s use your experience to influence the final countermeasure that ensures quality, cost and production are protected.
  • Liaise between all business areas to ensure that information is shared, offering guidance to reduce project risks, maintaining business targets and deliver a high quality, class defining customer focused product.
  • Define problem(s) using RCA steps and report accordingly.
  • Ensure actions are sat with the relevant business area’s and the information is fed back, overseeing the concern through from conception to completion.
  • Confirm that the corrective action is implemented in the appropriate time frame.

 

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Complete vehicle technical experience preferred.
  • Engineering background ideal.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD data and G.D.& T desirable.
  • Previous root cause analysis experience / concern resolution essential.
  • Experience using problem solving quality tools such as 8D / PPS/ 5Y / SPC / DMAIC.
  • Proven experience working in strong performing team environments as well as working alone.
