MES Systems engineer - McLaren Applied Technologies 

 

The Role:

Reporting to the NPI Team Leader, the NPI/ MES Programmer will focus on the continued implementation and development of the Aegis MES Software to allow successful and efficient production of McLaren Applied Technology (MAT) portfolio of products. The NPI/MES Programmer will be the main MES interface between NPI and Production.

MAT has begun the phased introduction of Aegis Industrial Software Corporation's FactoryLogix® Manufacturing Execution System (MES) into its electronics manufacturing facility. Among the many benefits, its introduction will bring about a significant change in the way the company controls and distributes assembly documentation. Particularly important in the context of ISO 9001 and, as the company starts to make its presence felt within the highly regulated Medical Devices sector, ISO 13485 compliance.

Responsibilities: 

  • Continue implementation of the McLaren Applied Technologies the Aegis MES software package
  • Create content-rich documentation, including interactive 3D models, videos to enhance the delivery of clear and concise assembly instructions.
  • Migration of existing document packages within Aegis MES.
  • Work with in-house design teams to ensure smooth and optimised new product introduction (NPI) into manufacturing and production readiness for prototype builds.
  • Support the released products through their complete life-cycle with Aegis MES.
  • Specialised equipment identification and procurement related to the Aegis MES.
  • Fully contribute to the process of continuous improvement and the company goal of achieving zero defects, in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.
  • Follows and communicates understanding of production procedures, processes and technical documentation IN Aegis MES.
  • Work autonomously within established procedures and practices.

 Skills and Experience:

  • Combination of relevant education and work-related experience within an NPI Environment:
    • Degree educated in Software programming (includes recent Graduates).
    • A HND or HNC will be considered with strong supporting relevant experience.
  • Programming experience:
    • Experience of using or configuring an MES system, ideally Aegis Factory Logix®
    • Experience of setting up and programming SAP, Fishbowl, ERP
    • Experience of software programming or database programming
  • Experience in product routings and workflows.
  • Experience contributing to continuous improvement
  • Project management experience – highly desirable.
  • Experience facilitating and negotiating to support cross-functional collaboration and identifying solutions efficiently.
  • Knowledge of key business processes relevant to NPI
  • Experience of analysing, setting, communicating, agreeing and implementing targets.
  • Knowledge or enthusiasm to learn modern manufacturing techniques – PCBA Surface mount and conventional assembly, machining and surface finishes.
