The Job:


You will be responsible for validating the build condition during the assembly of the production cars in General Assembly. You will be responsible for auditing each production vehicle as it passes through one of our dedicated audit stations and feeding back concerns to your team leader and other members of production. You will also work with the manufacturing systems and process team to trial process changes and validate quality concerns.


The Role:


As one of our process validation team members you will provide first hand support to manufacturing by auditing each production vehicle at various stages of the production process. You will have an active input into improving Method, Safety, Quality, Cost, and Product Delivery.


You will have the opportunity to work with different production departments to understand quality concerns/symptoms and feedback to the manufacturing systems and process department.


What else will you get involved in?

  • 4M Analysis (Man/Method/Machine/Material)
  • Feedback / feedforward quality concerns across production
  • Attend MPA feedback sessions (McLaren Production Audit)
  • Attend daily quality feedback meetings
  • Analyse audit defects and track occurrences
  • Assist in upholding the build integrity of our products, by way of carrying out line walks activities, recording results and feeding back the data/information to the relevant parties


Who are we looking for?

As one of our team members you will naturally have an understanding and appreciation for low volume, high value performance vehicle production and brand requirements.


We work in a fast-paced environment so the ability to act under pressure with calmness, clarity of thought and decisive authority is crucial. Change is a natural part of our business and candidates must be susceptible to plans and procedures changing frequently. You will be able to demonstrate good self-management and timekeeping with a flexible approach to working hours.


You will have the determination to drive forward the business to ‘Best in Class’ performance standards in line with brand expectations and be a lateral thinker able to think outside of the box to make structured and objective decisions


Other traits of a successful McLaren employee will include good attention to detail and data analysis skills including the use of all Microsoft Office applications.



Ideally you will have experience with:

  • Continuous improvement initiatives within Method, Cost, Quality, Delivery & Safety
  • Audit principles, tools and techniques
  • Quality fault finding experience
  • Vehicle assembly process instructions and visuals
  • End of Line vehicle processing / finishing
