Maintenance Engineer

To ensure McLaren Automotive continues its desire to be “the sportscar company”, we are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join the team.


Purpose of the Role:

To support the maintenance and repair of critical production equipment within Automotive MPC Facility to minimize downtime and maximize operating effectiveness and efficiency


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and Effective fault finding on Critical Production Equipment
  • Plan and Carrying out repair, improvement and preventative maintenance work on all Production Equipment.
  • Effective supervision of the Subcontractor activities as required.
  • Identification of continuous improvement of plant, equipment and systems.
  • Compliance with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policy requirements within area of responsibility.
  • Effective logging and documentation of reactive and planned maintenance tasks
  • Assistance in the sign off Future Technologies to be utilised within MPC
  • Source and order specialist components, fixtures and fixings.
  • Management (including Budget Responsibilities) and repeated assessment of onsite Critical spares
  • Support with Planned Maintenance activities during the Production Shut Down Periods
  • Create and update maintenance and equipment procedures.
  • Maintain and organize all asset documentation.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Electrical/Mechanical recognised engineering skills – will be subject to practical test i.e. BTEC / HND / Apprenticeship
  • Experience of fault finding and maintenance activity on PC, PLC and electromechanically controlled production equipment.
  • Robust experience in a similar role and industry.
  • Good working knowledge / programming experience of Siemens S7, Canbus, VSDs and predictive maintenance techniques an advantage.
  • Knowledge of automated control systems and manufacturing and process equipment is required.
