Logistics Process Manager

Purpose of the Role: 
Reporting to the Head of Logistics Systems and Inventory Control, you will drive the business process management activities that underpin everything we do in logistics.
Providing key process management in a dynamic and complex SAP environment with focus across Supply Planning, Material Control, and Logistics Operations that enables growth and change to happen in a controlled and standardised way. You will also provide key data to support decision making and will need to effectively manage data and present it in a structured manner. Create and manage business process documentation and audit those processes to ensure adherence to the standard way of working.  The Logistics Process Manager will play a key role in developing and delivering innovative reporting and process management solutions that move the business forward, and underpin a streamlined, efficient operation.


Principal Accountabilities:

  • Drive process standardisation and adherence across the logistics landscape.
  • Focus engagement with Business process owners and end users
  • Gather business requirements to align process evolution and SAP applications
  • Input into the logistics solutions roadmap.
  • Ability to differentiate between people and system issues
  • Triage SAP support issues following feedback from Key Users & End Users.
  • Learn the system from the end-user application perspective; this includes SAP and the associated business processes.
  • Responsible for managing the maintenance of process documentation
  • Process review and improvement
  • Responsible for identifying change impacts and developing strategies and materials to aid adoption
  • Champion the correct way of working and reinforce positive habits and overcome negative workarounds
  • Participate in testing and validation of the new standards, new processes, and new functionality.
  • Participate in Business Process Management and audits, workshops, blueprinting and acceptance testing
  • Provide high-quality mentoring, knowledge transfer and training for SAP Modules to the business Key users and end-users.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Preferred candidates will have had good project as well as operational experience and an in-depth knowledge of the following areas:

  • Logistics and/or warehousing experience within the Automotive industry, preferably low volume niche vehicle production, but non-automotive experience also considered for right candidate
  • Previous SAP supply chain experience, preferably within material handling, warehousing and logistics
  • Experience of WM/EWM implementations would be beneficial but not required
  • Inventory management experience/projects would be beneficial but not required  
  • Excellent business process knowledge – this role is not operational but the right candidate will understand the business and the system
  • Gains the respect of colleagues and is a team player who is more interested in results than personal preferences
  • Excellent team player with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Confident in decision making and reinforcing the changes in team’s processes & behaviour
  • Ability to contextualise the SAP solution into business language and ways of working
  • Advocate Change Management with a good understanding of how to apply change strategies
  • Strong analytical, technical and written skills that enable you to communicate findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Business process analysis and redesign experience; including process mapping; business process redesign and implementation
  • Sound knowledge of integration points
  • Able to write comprehensive business requirements
