To ensure McLaren Automotive continues its desire to be “the sportscar company”, we are looking for a Logistics Operation Team Leader to join our team.


Purpose of the role:

This role is key in ensuring the smooth operation of the parts replenishment function within McLaren Automotive. You will be the Logistics owner of an area of Production and the corresponding parts required in this area. You will be responsible for a team of up to 12 people and ensuring a clean handover to the oncoming shift.  


Principal accountabilities:

  • Manage the Replenishment operation ensuring a 1 shift buffer is maintained for the oncoming shift.
  • Responsible to oversee and manage the performance of  Logistics Operations Team Members  and their respective teams.
  • Enhance the team’s internal performance supporting industry leading KPIs.
  • Drive continual improvement in the way the team operates
  • Implement controls to ensure errors, inaccuracies and discrepancies are highlighted addressed and resolved.
  • Ensure strict adherence to SAP process for, working pro-actively with SAP support at all times
  • Ensure that all pick exceptions are recorded and reported and any items deemed to be a line stop part are escalated and followed through accordingly.
  • Ensure that “Hot parts” or parts holding up production for whatever reason are expedited through the business.


Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Confident in dealing with stakeholders, both internally and externally, and in ensuring the requirements of the department and wider business are met.
  • Experience of working with Automotive OEM supply chain processes.
  • Structured and organised approach to the management of work
  • Proven ability to make sound and logical decisions.
  • SAP experience is a benefit.
  • Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
