Our team

Operational Management within MAT collaborates with all Applied Technologies’ Business Units and the wider McLaren Group.

The role

To support MAT’s rapid growth this new role has been created to facilitate the smooth introduction into additional facilities throughout the globe as well as planning and supporting the changing needs of existing facilities to keep pace with evolving business needs. The right candidate will work with other McLaren stakeholders and third parties to represent MAT’s interests in achieving the right environment and then plan, implement and control any changes. As the business grows we expect this function to grow into a small team.

As the Location Manager you will be responsible for implementing the MAT facilities strategy set by the senior management team. Translate strategy and standards into a deliverable service model. Provide input into strategic development of service needs for these facilities, working closely with other MAT and Group stakeholders to maximise opportunities and ensuring consistency. You will support service development by identifying developments which enhance operational productivity and financial efficiency. You will focus on best-practice and value engineering to reduce cost base. Whilst developing relationships with the supply chain to keep current on best practice and new ideas.

Requirements

  • Ability to write clear compelling reports
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Project
  • Proven facilities management across multiple locations is essential.

Skills and expertise

  • Strong financial and analytical management abilities
  • Development of SLA's and KPI's
  • Contract management skills and experience
  • Demonstrable experience of managing small/medium/large size engineering projects
  • Proven ability to work effectively across teams, and communicate effectively at all levels
  • Previous relevant experience within the Facilities Management industry

The work environment 

You will be based at the world-renowned McLaren Technology Centre. Our campus includes a subsidised restaurant, a café, a gym with a pool, break-out spaces, bicycle storage facilities and more.

Our environment is designed to encourage collaborative working across all teams. You will be within one hundred metres of a specialist within their field, whether it’s in design, modelling and simulation, software development, data analytics, electronics hardware, finance and marketing.

The recruitment process

  • If your application is successful, you’ll be invited for a phone interview with one of our experienced technical recruiters.
  • If our recruiter believes you’re suitable for the role, you will then be invited for a phone interview with senior members from the team which will last approximately 30 minutes.
  • The final stage includes a face to face interview at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey. This is usually with the hiring manager. The interview will involve a series of skills based technical questions and problem solving or design challenges.
