Internal Audit Manager

Location: Woking, GB

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Internal Audit Manager to join our busy team based in Woking, Surrey.  This is a new role that will report to the Head of Tax and Risk of the McLaren Group in Woking with a view to collaboratively developing the management and understanding of risk within the McLaren group.  The role will also be required to provide reporting and analysis to the Audit and Risk Committee, constituted from three of the Group’s board members.


The McLaren Group contains three business units: -

  • Automotive – a manufacturer of luxury high performance super cars
  • Racing – one of the most successful teams in Formula 1
  • Applied Technologies – a rapidly growing technology company


Principal accountabilities:


  • Assists in development of the Group’s annual audit plan
  • Perform preliminary planning and establish direction for audits; liaising with external audit partner firm to manage project to quality outcomes, while meeting established time budgets
  • Perform audit work, including plan preparation, workpapers, finding, and associated reports
  • Coordinate and interact with staff of all levels and disciplines throughout the McLaren Group and with external audit as needed.
  • Partner with management teams to build cost-effective improvement recommendations and assist with the implementation where necessary
  • Monitor the implementation of recommendations and re-test where necessary.
  • Assist in the gathering of risk register information from business functions and analysis thereof
  • Assist the Head of Risk with the preparation of Audit Committee documentation and to take part in presentations to the Committee
  • Participate in development, implementation and maintenance of Group policies and objectives.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned



Knowledge, skills & experience:


  • Internal Audit/Controls experience within the Commercial & Industry sector.
  • The ability to work autonomously and run projects to a high standard, whilst managing your time successfully.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, whilst producing results.
  • Experience in report writing
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Effective use of IT including word, PowerPoint and excel. Knowledge of SAP would be beneficial
