Purpose of the Role: To Provide support for the existing Health, safety and environmental Manager

Role Dimensions:

The Graduate Trainee will work to improve their knowledge and skills in order to generate, promote and maintain a positive health, safety and environmental culture.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Carrying out risk assessments and considering how risks could be cost effectively reduced.
  • Carrying out regular department visits to advise on and check health, safety and environmental conformity with Company standards.
  • Leading in-house training with managers and employees
  • Keeping records of inspections and producing specialist reports
  • Keeping records of incidents and producing statistics for managers.
  • Assisting managers and team leader with the implementation of Health ,safety and environmental policy and procedures
  • Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all health, safety and environmental legislation and any technologies that affect the Company’s operations and undertakings
  • Assisting with the periodic review and update of Company health, safety and environmental procedures and standards,
  •  Assisting in ensuring that compliance with all relevant legislation and company standards are met
  • Attend and support health and safety meeting

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

Degree in Health safety and Environmental management

Microsoft office skills

Personal Attributes:

Excellent communication, motivational, persuasion and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work well within a team.

· Be able to work to deadlines.

· Be able to work on one’s own initiative.

· Able to act in a fair, firm, polite and business-like manner.

· Able and willing to learn new skills.
