The Role

McLaren Applied have led the digital transformation of motorsport through electronics, telemetry and analytics.  We now develop innovative technologies that drive positive, sustainable change in automotive, transport, health and beyond.  We develop hybrid and electric drive systems, electronic control units for automotive and motorsport, cloud-based telemetry analysis, sensors, simulation and more.  

The Engineering team is at the core of Applied.  We employ software, electronics, electrical, mechanical, simulation and systems engineers, plus data scientists.  We create and deliver products and solutions to customer through our commercial programs.  

We are looking for a graduate (technology or business) to join our Engineering Leadership team.  From this unique perspective you will learn about the business before being ready to transition into our engineering or commercial teams after 18-24 months.  

In this role, you will work with all engineering and functional teams.  You will gain a complete understanding of our products, development practices and operations and help drive engineering operations.  You will report to the Engineering Director and as part of your role you will meet and work with people from all teams at Applied.  

Responsibilities Include

  • Learning our business by supporting different Engineering teams with specific activities
  • Monitoring Engineering’s operational performance and sharing insights
  • Creating and publishing information to employees about how Engineering works
  • Organising information-sharing events (e.g. internal poster sessions and mini conferences)
  • Reviewing and improving materials created by Engineering Leaders  

Candidate Requirements  

  • A resourceful technology or business graduate starting their career, with high curiosity, an interest in our technologies, and the ability to understand, reason about and communicate information.
