Purpose of the Role

McLaren Applied has a strong history of producing high performance motor control electronics and software.  We are growing this area of the business. 

As an Associate Motor Control Engineer you will sit within the wider Electrification Applications team

  • You will develop electric motor controls for a range of motorsports and automotive applications. 
  • You will develop both low-level power switching algorithms and also the high level torque and mode control from concept design through to practical validation on test rigs and dyno test facilities.
  • You will work with our electronic design and embedded software teams to develop control algorithms.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Have project/thesis/internship experience of designing motor control switching algorithms in either Simulink or VHDL for implementation onto FPGA hardware or microcontrollers
  • Have experience with C, MATLAB Simulink, and VHDL for control system implementation. 
  • Have a First class degree or upper 2nd in relevant engineering or science subjects or equivalent experience.
