Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Woking, GB

Working on a range of motorsport projects you will get to play a key part in developing embedded code for a range of high-performance components used across the motorsport industry from F1 to NASCAR. You will get to see your work operate in the harsh motorsport environment, reaching speeds of 200+mph where performance and reliability are key to success.



What do you get?

As an Embedded Software Engineer you will be given responsibility for the software development lifecycle on a range of electronic sensors and control units. By giving you ownership of your projects, you will be able create specifications and work closely with customers to ensure that the product fulfils its requirements. Your ability to adapt and respond to changes is what will set you apart from the competition, in an industry where performance is key, requirements may be changed by the customer at any time in the pursuit of winning.



Where will your experience be?

  • As the Embedded Software Engineer naturally you would have worked on a range of embedded products.
  • Utilising your knowledge of C you will have experience working on microcontrollers. We use Microchip and Freescale, but any microcontroller experience will have relevance.
  • Solving challenges using engineering first principles is somewhere you are naturally gifted.
  • You aren’t phased by presenting in internal design reviews and externally to customers.
  • By having a good understanding of microcontroller architecture, knowledge of electronic principles, and communication systems such as CAN. You can adopt a holistic approach to development.
  • A Good understanding of standard communication protocols (e.g. CAN, SPI, I2C)


Other Knowledge Areas that would help us

  • Understanding of basic electronic principles
  • Experience in C++ and Visual Basic 
  • Knowledge of the functionality of transducer and sensing principles
  • Previous experience within an embedded engineering design role
  • Adept at researching, understanding and implementing technical solution methods when beyond current skill set
