Electronics Engineer (Test Systems)

Location: Woking, GB

Location: Woking

Job Type: Permanent

Contract Duration: Permanent

Ours is a story of ingenuity and relentless technical development. Of grit, and heroism, and human endeavour. Of knowing and believing that we’re only at our best when we’re at our bravest. Of moving fearlessly forward. Always.

We have huge plans for our future and we’re making incredible things happen.

Right now, we’re looking for an Electronics Engineer to push us further and faster than ever. To tackle F1 racing’s biggest challenges with humility. To make the most of our open culture. To own the next chapter in our story.

You'll be designing, delivering and supporting bespoke electronic instrumentation, control systems and harnessing across the development of our new wind tunnel, our F1 race cars, and other test facilities. As part of our Test Control Systems team, you'll be working closely with control engineers and mechanical design engineers across the Technical department, so effective communication is key.

You will be responsible for the full life cycle of your projects, from requirements gathering through to operation meaning you will be hands on the whole way. This also means agreeing timescales and so you'll be someone who is a planner, able to take ownership and hold people to account when necessary.

With a focus on electronic components, micro controllers and associated harnessing, you know what great looks like, especially when it comes to delivering solutions and process improvement. You're used to working with external suppliers, and are able to source both off-the-shelf and bespoke components, e.g. PCBs, control units and harnessing. You also have experience in supporting fault diagnosis and understand the importance of producing high quality documentation.

Your electronics-related degree gave you the foundations, and you have good knowledge of micro-electronics, digital and analogue principles and transducer technology. You're also familiar with low level embedded software development in C on a variety of platforms.

Familiarity working within F1 is desirable but by no means a necessity. You might currently be in an aerospace or supplier environment and looking for the next exciting step in your career! Whatever your current role, you love the occasional opportunity to get stuck in with the practical testing, including the operation of laboratory instrumentation, test equipment and solder rework.

You're driven and motivated to learn, but also keen to share your knowledge and experiences with others. After all, that's what a high performing team is based around. You're your best self when running with a project, and you're used to tight deadlines and a pressured environment. You're thorough and meticulous and pride yourself on your high quality work.

If this sounds like you and you're looking to write the next chapter in your story, apply now!
