EDS Electrical Engineer

Location: Woking, GB

You have the passion to engineer some of the world’s most advanced and admired vehicles. If you’re looking for an environment that provides you with the freedom and encouragement to venture into new technologies and push the boundaries, then join McLaren as an EDS Electrical Engineer. You’ll be able to say ‘I helped create that’ when you see the next Senna or Speedtail leave the production line.

The Vehicle Electronics team delivers the system hardware of McLaren vehicles – everything from switchgear to infotainment, and from connectivity to electrical distribution systems. That’s where you come in. Your work will be at the heart of enabling us to make strides in key areas like connected car and augmented driving.

You’ll be designing and developing low voltage electrical distribution systems for our development programmes using your knowledge of 2D and 3D software like Arcadia, Cadonix, and Catia V5. If you’ve used something similar then you’ll still be suitable if you have a good understanding of electrical circuit design, wiring, fusing, and packaging. You’ll also be working closely with a number of suppliers, so your ability to communicate requirements and oversee supplier activity will also be important.

2020 is going to be a really exciting time to be at McLaren. It’ll be the busiest period in our history as we embark on a number of new programmes, some of them new developments, and others will be ready to go into production. You’ll join an established, specialist team of Engineers ready and willing to support you on your career journey and expose you to new opportunities. Join us on our journey.
