EDI Systems Manager

As part of our Track25 business plan we will launch 18 new models or derivatives of our vehicles and look to expand our retailer network into new markets with an aim of having 100 retailers globally.  


Track 25 and McLaren Automotive’ s growing reputation is testament to our world class employees. To ensure McLaren Automotive continues to be at the forefront of the Automotive market, we are looking for a EDI Systems Manager to join our Logistics team.


Purpose of the role:

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Inventory and MSC, this role is responsible for the development and maintenance of our existing EDI systems, both functionally and for supplier rollout with the support of the EDI development engineer.

Operational responsibility for our EDI systems, ensuring a seamless service is provided to the business.


Principal accountabilities:

  • Liaise with purchasing, material control, Material Planning, Logistics operations teams and our SAP COE teams.
  • Liaise with EDI software provider and McLaren internal departments regarding EDI use expandability and updates
  • Co-ordinate internal stake holders to effectively plan & execute migration of suppliers onto EDI
  • Positively promote achievements and migration progress by use of KPIs
  • Work to continue to expand the use of EDI throughout the business by compiling business case studies
  • Be the business lead for EDI when expanding the functionality of the EDI system 


Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Working knowledge and understanding of SAP within the field of material management, Procurement and IDOC population
  • Proven ability to act under pressure with calmness, clarity of thought and decisive authority
  • Experience in analysing and interpreting data
  • Proven communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Highly IT literate (Microsoft applications, SAP etc)
  • Comprehensive grasp of planning principles and objectives.
  • Proven ability to make sound and logical decisions.
  • Sound problem solving skills
