Composite Machining Support

Purpose of the Role: Preparation and delivery of tooling components and assemblies to aid downstream production of F1 components.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Polishing mould tool parts to design standards and in accordance with department procedures and instructions
  • Assembly of mould and production tools to CAD drawings and planned instructions
  • Preparation and assembly of other similar components as programme and department demand requires.
  •  Preparing tooling block for machining (gluing up) and hand finishing/assembly of patterns.
  • Maintaining the working environment to defined standards of 3S, TPM and housekeeping / presentation
  • Ensuring stock levels of bushes, bolts and consumables for role are checked and maintained
  • Management of the department’s raw material plate stock and Tooling board.
  • Liaise with Quality Dept. regarding calibration control of Dept. measuring equipment.
  • Management of Flammable cabinet, ensuring that all items are in date and only our agreed products are present.
  • Ensure all department procedures and policies are understood and followed
  • Understanding and compliance with all matters relating to health and safety

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Good Understanding of engineering practises
  • Able to read engineering drawings
  • Experience in tooling and fixture assembly and use of bench and hand tools
  • Experience of all aspects of aluminium mould polishing and assembly
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of 3DX and Javelin
  • Counterbalance forklift licence would be an advantage
