Commercial Market and Strategy Analyst

Where will you have experience? 

  • Already having some exposure to commercial, strategic and market analysis you will have an analytical mind, using data as your tool to deliver tangible commercial analysis to the wider business.
  • You will have experience supporting commercial and operational activities within a technology business. 
  • Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM software to enable you to take ownership of the system ensuring it is meeting business needs.
  • Your ability to seek, gather and assimilate subjective and objective data whilst providing rapid analysis and insight to help inform decision making. 
  • You will have had exposure to cross-functional teams ideally with a technical / engineering focus
  • A thorough understanding of how to keep track of and interpret market trends coupled with the ability to spot emerging opportunities. 

 

What will we ask you to get involved in? 

Business Planning:

  • Supporting creation & maintenance of Applied’s Strategic and Annual Business Plans and associated strategic metrics to drive and monitor Applied’s growth ambitions 

Pricing:

  • Maintain pricing framework across Applied – enabling population of the framework by Product Marketing and Product Management personnel (see market analysis below) 

Commercial, Market and Strategic Analysis including: 

  • Intelligence from Historic Sales – maintaining a framework for the analysis of historic sales for commercial advantage including commercial/margin analysis/prioritisation and linkage between products 
  • Market Sizing – maintenance of market data sources and framework for TAMs, SAMs across Applied, in support of others sizing markets 
  • Competitive & Market Intelligence – maintaining a framework for capturing competitive and market intelligence (including pricing), in support of those determining competitive positioning 
  • Executing market analysis on behalf of Product Marketing stakeholders

Commercial Metrics: 

  • Articulating commercial targets and monitoring strategic and tactical progress against them across Applied 
  • Ownership of Salesforce CRM system: working with Commercial Director and Sales and Line of Business teams to ensure Salesforce meets business needs including prioritisation and rollout of new features to support per Line of Business reporting and performance tracking 
  • Roll-up of budget planning and quarterly forecasts for revenue from new business + MI reporting, specifically around designing, developing and reporting of lead metrics for Business Development progress e.g. against order targets, pipeline health 

Stakeholder Management 

  • Maintain a close working relationship with Lines of Business (Product Marketing), Product Managers and Engineering 
  • Work closely with colleagues across the business, interacting and engaging professionally with good levels of communication.
