For the next 6 years as part of McLaren’s Track 22 plan, we are looking to invest £1 billion into Research and Development, leading to the launch of 15 all-new cars or derivatives during this period.

Purpose of the Role:

Working within the Total Quality Management (TQM) team where you will be responsible for controlling and coordinating all activities associated with the conformity of production requirements, and the execution of the Conformity of Production (COP) plan. This requires a high level of coordination amongst the stakeholdes in the process and consistent  and effective communication.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Liaise closely with the Certification department in planning the activities required for conformity of production
  • Define and execute the COP test plan for each production model
  • Work with other related departments in the timely execution of the COP Plan
  • Liaise with external laboratories to ensure COP tests are planned accordingly and executed on time
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure internal tests and checks are conducted according to the COP plan
  • Manage and internally coordinate all COP related audits conducted by Certification Authorities
  • Manage the COP related budget
  • Support the Compliance aspect of the department with regards to End of Life Vehicle (ELV) and Reuse Recycle Recover (RRR) legislative requirement
  • Support the Compliance aspect of the department with regards to Quality Management System (QMS) requirement

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience in automotive industry is essential
  • Knowledge of legislative requirements applicable to passenger cars including conformity of production procedures
  • Previous experience in Quality Management Systems and processes, including End Of Line inspection and suppliers audit
  • Previous experience in executing and managing audits conducted by relevant approval authorities
  • Project management skills are desirable
  • Mechanical or Automotive Engineering Degree 2:1 or above is desirable
