Purpose of the Role:
To competently follow predefined manufacturing processes to deliver products through advanced and specialised experience, typically developed through a combination of job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Leads and delivers in production and inspection activities following instructions and processes to ensure technology is delivered effectively, efficiently, on-time, to specification and in a cost effective manner.
  • Provides support to technicians.
  • Completes own work unsupervised and facilitates the work and activities of others; may coordinate work beyond own area.
  • Proposes improvements to processes and supports the work of others.
  • Performs/prepares build activities before and during product manufacturing.
  • Delivers production requirements by following instructions/processes.
  • The position may also include all aspects of the build processes from machine programming to final build.
  • Electronics assembly inspection support.
  • Follows and communicates understanding of production procedures, processes and technical documentation.
  • Works autonomously within established procedures and practices.
  • Maintains manufacturing documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.
  • Fully contributes to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in all general aspects of surface mount manufacturing processes is an essential requirement.
  • Good time management.
  • Basic PC skills.
  • Good attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of production standards and efficiency.
  • Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements.
  • Good understanding of working in similar high technology environment.
  • Good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience of Siemens Siplace would be advantageous.
  • Hand soldering skills to meet IPC-J-STD-001 Class 3.
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant IPC standards.
  • General understanding of industry standards and regulations in order to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safety.
  • Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job expertise.

Role Dimensions: 

Overtime during certain periods of the year is essential to ensure customer deadlines are achieved.
