Bespoke Technician - McLaren Special Operations

McLaren Special Operations (MSO) is a division of McLaren Automotive, responsible for the design, development and delivery of personalised and bespoke vehicle commissions, performance details and options, as well as overseeing and ensuring McLaren legacy vehicles remain road worthy and up to date.  MSO products and services represent world class McLaren offerings and in doing so provides McLaren owners with virtually limitless possibilities to tailor a car exactly to their needs and tastes.

To ensure McLaren Automotive continues to be at the forefront of the Automotive market, we are looking for a Bespoke Technician to join our McLaren Special Operations team.
 
Purpose of the role:

As a Bespoke Technician within the McLaren Special Operations workshop team, you will a part of a team of truly world class Technicians. This is a rare opportunity to join this tech team working on Bespoke customer vehicles, building test vehicles for MSO products as well as all other current Models.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Carrying out duties from fitting MSO options to complete bespoke vehicle builds on all McLaren Models.
  • Take part in problem solving activities.
  • Occasional worldwide travel required.
  • Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  • Maintain and endorse McLaren values.
  • Ability to contribute to car component fault diagnosis process.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Previous experience with previous McLaren models desirable. Any experience working with high end luxury vehicles will be a distinct advantage.
  • Back ground in vehicle servicing, restoration.
  • City & Guilds - Level 3 or BTEC National in motor vehicle technology (or equivalent qualifications).
  • Fabricating and welding skills.
  • Vehicle diagnostic experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
