Getting to work within advanced electrification systems that power some of the highest performance cars across motorsport and automotive isn’t an opportunity most people get. As a B2B Motor Dyno Technician, you will run our dyno projects to ensure our performance meets the expectations of the industry.

Purpose of the Role

  • Being a Motor Dyno Technician, you will be swapping between different projects on the B2B Motor Dyno, from a mechanical & electrical safety point, quickly & efficiently with minimal issues.
  • Able to operate the B2B Dyno safely & effectively while testing & signing off specific systems (motors & inverters).
  • You already have been involved in system signoff as per engineering specification, while carrying out all tasks with minimal risk to personnel, equipment, environment & units while considering safety at all times.
  • Able to work between the engineering & production teams, allowing for greater and more accurate communication between the team members and different projects using the B2B Dyno
  • Able to find issues with units used in the field or in systems for different seasons, which were not built to the correct or specified standard from the supplier, eg. Phase cables.
  • Booking, Scheduling & Documenting of B2B Dyno, Maintenance & Calibration of Equipment & Instrumentation, Maintaining of Mechanics, Spares, Storage Hut & Workshop, swapping over between different Systems & Projects using the B2B Dyno, Testing & Signing Off Units on the B2B Dyno, Health & Safety of the B2B Dyno Facility.
  • Able to work alongside Engineering teams to fulfil their test needs on the B2B Motor Dyno

Principal Accountabilities

  • To competently follow predefined electronic hardware test processes to deliver products.
  • Perform test activities before and during product manufacturing.
  • Delivers test requirements by following instructions/processes.
  • Maintain both operating documentation and life of components, and manufacturing/test documentation to achieve full standards of traceability.
  • Work directly with customers on occasions to assist with testing of components and systems.
  • Electronics assembly test support.
  • Fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements and company goal of achieving zero defects in accordance with ISO9001 certified quality management systems requirements.
  • Use standard bench top test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, multimeters etc to execute tests.
  • Wiring harness build, preferably system-25/MIL experience (Motorsport)
  • Mechanical build/ assembly
  • Make on build experience
  • Understanding of Technical Drawings 
  • Wiring schedules – understanding/drawing
  • Fault finding of electronic systems, electronic circuits and assemblies to component level

Knowledge, Skills, Qualifications and Experience

  • Good GCSE grades or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • ONC, HNC or equivalent in an electronic discipline desirable.
  • Have a good understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Previous knowledge of with Hybrid and/or Electric Vehicle High Voltage hardware would be an advantage.
  • General understanding of industry standards and regulations to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safely.
  • Good attention to detail to allow you to maintain or exceed high levels of production/test standards and efficiency.
  • Ability to fully contribute to the process of continuous improvements.
  • Good understanding of working in a similar high technology environment.
