We now have a fantastic opportunity for an Aftersales Product Specialist to join the Aftersales team based in Woking, Surrey.

Purpose of the Role:

  • To support the design, creation and development of the Aftersales Accessories and Retrofit product portfolio. This will ensure that McLaren is at the forefront of the Aftermarket in the products that we offer for further personalisation and usability to existing and future owners alongside McLaren Qualified vehicles.
  • To maximise the global awareness and uptake of Accessories and Retrofit products with the aim of maximising customer offering, experience and retention and, thereby, ultimately driving long-term business growth.
  • The position is critical in supporting the Aftersales Product Manager in driving short and long term financial opportunity for both McLaren and the retail network.

Role Dimensions

  • The position will ensure that McLaren Automotive customers are provided with industry leading Genuine Accessories and Retrofit products to both support and further enhance the ownership experience.
  • Responsible for supporting the management of the design, creation, rollout and continued development of McLaren Genuine Accessories and Retrofit products, the Aftersales Product Specialist will be directly involved in the development of the McLaren Aftersales business as we continue to expand our products, global retailer and customer base.
  • Due to the nature of the role and demands of a progressive new company, flexible working arrangements and an element of foreign travel is anticipated.

 Principal Accountabilities:

  • A critical role within the Aftersales Product Team at McLaren Automotive, you will support the Aftersales Product Manager in developing and managing a portfolio of Accessory and Retrofit products across all current and legacy McLaren vehicles
  • To ensure a credible portfolio of Accessory and Retrofit products are available ahead of market launch of future vehicles
  • Support the definition of new products, drawing on market data and primary research sources to provide recommendations of new product concepts, you will work with the Aftersales Product Manager to develop the initial business case – detailing product USPs, setting key targets and attributes, competitor research, pricing amongst other key topics to establish the product positioning. To do so you will need to develop a clear understanding of the premium sportscar segment, be able to identify the changing needs of the customer base and recognise the appropriate opportunities for McLaren.
  • To project coordinate with the Aftersales Product Manager, the end to end product development process including the concept, design, development, DFMEA, testing evaluation and business case justification processes in bringing products to market
  • Monitor and manage product positioning and pricing, to maximise volume and revenue in function of product lifecycle, competitors and feedback. You will prepare data and information to help the Aftersales Product Manager understand and address individual market requirements, suggesting proposed changes/improvements to the product to improve performance.
  • Day to day coordination of product development to ensure adherence to timing plans are maintained, liaising with (but not limited to): Suppliers, Internal teams, Engineering and Marketing functions

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Experienced in project or product management and influencing key stakeholders in the product development process
  • Knowledge and experience of vehicle and product systems (including design) preferred
  • Experience in agency / supplier management essential
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of customer orientation
  • Proactive mind-set that devises creative solutions to strategic and tactical business challenges
  • Experience of working within dynamic and change-oriented teams
  • Ability to influence and engage at all levels in order to maximise Aftersales share of voice
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Operating System & programs
  • Experience of computer aided design systems is desired but not essential
