Accounts Payable Manager

Track 25 and McLaren Automotive’ s growing reputation is testament to our world class employees. To ensure McLaren Automotive continues to be at the forefront of the Automotive market, we are looking for an Accounts Payable Manager to join our Finance team.

Purpose of the role:

This is a pivotal role within the finance team, it provides the communication point between the business and the accounts payable team and is the driving force for compliance with procedure. This role is responsible for the purchase to pay process and instilling a continuous improvement culture.

Principal accountabilities:

  • Responsible for two Accounts Payable Team Leaders, providing them with support and guidance on managing the Accounts payable team (8-10 people)
  • Take ownership of the payment run. Ensure key suppliers are on the payment run and that the payment values are in line with expectations.
  • Drive improved business process, educate the business to follow process in a timely manner thus improving the purchase to payment flow.
  • Understand the factors affecting / supporting the output of the AP team, mitigate the problems and drive supporting factors to ensure maximum efficiency from the team.
  • Design and provide weekly KPI’s on the team and the output of the team, to be submitted to senior management.
  • Work with the Team Leaders in taking overall responsibility of the processing and query numbers, know what they are, why they are high / low and analyse as required to ensure that a manageable steady state position is maintained.
  • Be the business point of contact for supporting the new supplier management solution, both internally and externally. A new system is being implemented at the start of June, this system will enable auto invoice matching, account visibility for the vendors themselves as well as business workflow to support query resolution.
  • Ownership of all purchase ledger GL balances, ensure they are clean, explainable and current. Create and maintain a KPI of actual creditors vs. forecast to facilitate the cash management process.
  • Work with the Tax Manager to provide understanding and guidance on VAT to the AP team, ultimately ensuring that the correct VAT codes are used.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Strong experience in SAP
  • Experience of Wax Digital’s Web3 solution (preferred not essential)
  • Experience in Programme / Project management
  • Strong ability to influence change across a variety of disciplines / business areas
  • Advanced excel experience
  • Previous experience of operating in a similar capacity and leading a team
  • Automotive experience is highly desirable but not essential
